CALL FOR ENTRIES: AROUND THE BEND 2024
We invite artists of all experience levels to participate in this spectacular exhibition that features artwork by our diverse and vibrant visual arts community. Taking place in SBMA’s Warner Gallery, Around the Bend is open to artists 18 or over, residing in St. Joseph County and its surrounding counties (Berrien, Cass, Elkhart, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke and St. Joseph). Accepted artworks will be displayed salon style on the gallery walls (floor to ceiling).
EXHIBITION DATES: May 25 – August 25, 2024
DEADLINE FOR ALL ENTRIES: Friday, March 1st at 11:59 EST.
ENTRY FEE: $5.00 (to help with administrative costs).
A public opening on Friday June 7th (5:00–8:00 p.m.) will be a chance to celebrate with other artists and the public. We’ll also be programming other events throughout the summer, including panel discussions for artists on exhibit ing your artwork in galleries/museum spaces, different career paths artists can take, artist mixers, a Juneteenth weekend celebration event hosted by Homegrown Hype, and more!

JURORS:
Members of SBMA staff will select one (1) of your artworks from your submitted application for Around the Bend. You can submit up to 3 artworks for consideration…but only one artwork will be in the exhibition. Our goal is to include as many of our region’s artists as possible!
TO APPLY, YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:

Images of up to three (3) artworks for consideration. You can submit two (2) views of each artwork (6 images total). ONE (1) of these artworks will be selected for the Around the Bend exhibition.

Title, year, media, size and insurance value for each artwork you are submitting for consideration.

$5.00 Entry Fee (payable through Submittable platform).
