SUPPORT

The South Bend Museum of Art is a vibrant organization, firmly committed to its roots as an art center and to its mission as a premier cultural destination for the region. Since 1947, SBMA has provided cultural leadership in this community. As the first local organization to offer studio art classes outside of an academic setting, SBMA has fostered generations of emerging and established artists, young and old. Since the beginning, our goals have remained consistent, but our programs have been allowed to grow and flourish through the ongoing generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations. Your tax deductible gift of any size reserves your place in the long line of generous donors who have made our unique arts educational opportunities possible and sustained this museum for more than 65 years.

There are many ways to contribute. Let us help you find the perfect combination of programs and benefits to fit your interests and budget! Here are some of the choices:

  • Vantage Society
  • Membership
  • Sponsorships
  • Grants
  • Gifts of Art
  • Matching Gifts
  • Memorial & Tribute
  • Planned Giving

VANTAGE SOCIETY

Vantage Society donors provide critical support for the museum and play an integral role in all the museum does, from presenting groundbreaking exhibitions to offering arts-integrated education programs for students across the region. Inspiring art in our community, the society helps more individuals: See,Belong, and Make Art.

SPONSORSHIPS

Sponsorships get to the very heart of SBMA programming.  Every year we seek sponsors for our most compelling and key programs such as the Scholastic Art Awards Competition and Exhibition; the “American Series” exhibitions; our Youth Classes; our School Programs and more.

GRANTS

SBMA relies on many grants for ongoing support of our programs.  These might be from local, regional or national foundations, from public entities, from purpose-directed family foundations, and others. Please contact the Development Manager via email or phone: (574)235-5968.

GIFTS OF ART

SBMA’s distinguished collection of American art has grown almost exclusively by way of gifts. Two small acquisition funds and generous contributions from the Art League for purchase of contemporary art represent the only avenues of purchase.

MATCHING GIFTS

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees, doubling the impact of your gift. If your company is eligible, please request a matching gift form from your employer and follow their specific instructions to multiply the benefits of your gift to SBMA!

MEMORIAL & TRIBUTE

These gifts have been the lifeblood of both our acquisition fund and our scholarship fund. Many people choose to honor or remember loved ones or friends with a gift in their name to SBMA, on special occasions, in the event of a death, or just as a loving gesture.

PLANNED GIVING

Maximize your estate plan. Provide for your heirs while helping to sustain arts education in your community. Let us know if you would like assistance with remembering SBMA in your estate plan. We can direct you to excellent resources who will review with you the many vehicles for planned giving.
