Throughout MAKING A WAY, we have seen and heard how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected all artists in ways both great and small. As artists have done throughout history, some have chosen to make work that directly confronts their current experience. Contemplative, painful, and sometimes humorous, the work of Linda Bond, Kathy Bruce, Dee Hood, Saskia Krafft, Nathan Margoni, Lake Roberson Newton, TJ Norris, Iviva Olenick, and Mandy Cano Villalobos translates this experience into visual forms. Their work offers a touchstone, reminding us that even if we cannot be together, we are not alone during this difficult time.
