Making a Way

If there is a population that is designed to weather a pandemic which precipitates self isolation, facility closures, social distancing, and new social norms, it is artists. The artists of MAKING A WAY | ADAPTATION have creatively found new avenues for continuing to create artwork during this crisis. These strategies include changing the scale of their work (Jennifer Celio, Ken Reker, Amy Schissel), using new materials and methods (Andranik Aroutiounian, Pat Brentano, Shawn Rowe), and even using the time to redefine their practice (Joe Karlovec, Rachel Burgess). Their stories represent proof that — as Pat Brentano states so eloquently in her audio track — “nothing limits a creative mind.”
