COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus

Temporary Closure of South Bend Museum of Art is Being Extended Through July 3, 2020

The health and safety of the Museum’s visitors, staff, and volunteers is our top priority. SBMA is closely monitoring the latest developments regarding the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus outbreak and following the direction of our city and state health officials (southbendin.gov/, in.gov) and the Centers for Disease Control (cdc.gov) . We will continue to follow their expert advice as we review all gallery operations, classes, events, and other activities.

SBMA Galleries will reopen on Friday, July 3 with the following exhibitions:

SBMA Studio Classrooms will reopen on Friday, July 3.

Events:

  • SBMA First Friday Artist and Donor Reception, Friday, July 3Warner and Jerome J. Crowley Community Galleries
    Friday, July 3, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
    Artist reception will feature SBMA’s Conversation Series: Lea Goldman & Sarah Martin: Intertwined and the 2019 Undergraduate Residency Exhibition.
  • Monday night yoga with Jamie Robinson will begin Monday, July 13.
  • An Ekphrastic Event for Sharing the Muse, has been rescheduled to Friday, September 25.
  • TEENFORUM: Open Crit on Thursday, April 16, has been postponed (date tbd).
  • Art League Luncheon scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, has been cancelled.
  • Meet Me on the Island events for June and July are cancelled. 
  • The Arts In Bloom Garden Walk has been cancelled.
