Health and Safety Update

[Updated: August 31, 2020]

Visiting the Museum

Gallery Hours: Wednesday – Sunday, 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Visitors should enter through the Rotunda doors (SBMA’s main entrance, in Century Center’s circle drive on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) or Door #8 (Century Center’s north entrance) until further notice.

Because we care deeply about the health and safety of everyone, this new reality involves being mindful about our physical spaces, as well as how we interact with each other. In response, we will closely follow the phased guidelines for public health outlined by the State of Indiana and St. Joseph County.

  • Visitors will be asked to complete a COVID-19 self-screening prior to entering the galleries.
  • Safety protocols will be posted on all entrances and all staff will be instructed regarding their own compliance as well as the compliance of visitors.
  • Face coverings/masks are required for all staff and visitors in the museum. For those without a mask, SBMA will provide one while supplies last. (Those with a medical condition preventing them from wearing a mask and children under age 2 will be exempt)
  • Social distancing will be enforced – parties that are not visiting together should maintain six feet or more separation from other parties.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are located at museum entrances, galleries and studios.
  • There will be a plexiglass face guard at the reception desk inside SBMA’s main entrance.
  • We have increased cleaning protocals for all public areas and surfaces.

We look forward to seeing you!

SBMA wishes to thank the community for its ongoing support. We look forward to welcoming you back to explore our galleries.
