About the Instructor:
Tara is a self taught fiber artist who’s inspiration comes from working on local farms, a few years spent in Italy and a mother and grandmother who always ensured that paintbrushes, crochet needles or a camera were in Tara’s hands , always, as a child. Tara is also a mindfulness and history educator who spent over 18 years in the classroom before recently moving to Indiana. Spinning and knitting free form, using raw fibers to highlight their origin is an important trait of Tara’s fiber work. Tara uses fibers from their angora rabbits and goats as well as upcycled fibers such as cotton t-shirts, denim, muslin, beads and more, to create a one-of- a- kind skein or handknit wearable. She describes her work, and herself, as an “eclectic creative.”
