Summer Blast II: Portraits in Watercolor 8/14 (5 Weeks) Ages 16-Adult


Begins August 14, 2021 and meets once a week for 5 weeks.

Saturdays, Beginning August 14

Time: 1:00PM – 4:00PM

This class will teach the basics of watercolor painting by taking students through the process of creating a portrait. Students will learn how to set up a portrait with proper lighting and then learn how to build layers of color with watercolor paint to create a beautiful painting. If you have always wanted to work with portraiture, this is a great introduction to get you started, or even to hone your skills to the next level.

Materials List:
Any cold press watercolor paper- Arches is best but not necessary- 16×20 or larger
Number 8 round watercolor brush
Number 6 round watercolor brush
1″ flat watercolor brush
Any tube watercolor set that includes: Ivory Black, Prussian Blue (or Thalo Blue), Ultramarine, Viridian Hue, Burnt Umber, Raw Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Cadmium Yellow Hue, Cadmium Red Hue, and Alizarin Crimson.  (any other colors desired are totally acceptable, this is just the minimum).
Watercolor pallet (anything is fine, but the ones with the lid are great because they don’t get as dirty)
Masking tape
*optional: a brush cleaning water tub
