Global Art History with a Twist: PART TWO – 8 Weeks
$155.00

In this class we’ll continue to look at art from the ancient to the modern all around the world, looking at and thinking about how environment , events, necessity and culture played a part. We’ll also hop through the worm hole between epochs seeing how the old influenced the new. Videos, discussions and fun, stress free projects to try out some techniques and materials are the basis for this class. Questions and curiosity are encouraged and welcome! This class is intended to satisfy your want to know.
The second half of each class will include a fun, no pressure project to let participants get in the heads of the artists we’re studying and try their techniques and methods for producing our own work of art.
Supply list: bring any art materials you may already have. If you don’t have any, that’s ok, too. I would suggest getting Liquitex Basics Acrylics. They are relatively inexpensive, but pretty high quality. Here is a link to a set at Blick: https://www.dickblick.com/
You will also need a small, medium sized and large paint brush. Blick student grade white synthetic bristles are good choices: sizes, 8, 12 filberts https://www.dickblick.com/
It would also be helpful to have a 1″ flat brush from the hardware store.
To paint on: Blick canvas sheets either 12 by 16″ or 16″ x 20″
