Artists’ Mixer!

Friday, October 4, 2019 | 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

BYOB! Bring Your Own Beamer

BYOB is a series of one-night exhibitions curated by different people around the world. The first BYOB was organized by Anne de Vries & Rafaël Rozendaal in Berlin in 2010.

On the night of the Artists’ Mixer, ANY ARTIST is invited to bring their own projector (and related equipment) to the South Bend Museum of Art to project your artwork on the walls, ceiling, etc… of the empty, darkened Warner Gallery (5000 ft2). Artist setup can begin as early as 3:00 p.m. (EST). A limited number of pedestals will be available to artists on a first come, first serve basis. All other equipment (speakers, cords, media players, etc.) are the responsibility of the artist. Artwork should be appropriate for an all-ages audience. We will ask volume to be lowered beginning at 7:00 p.m. to accommodate the music and dance performances that will begin at that time.

Art Exchange! | Bring artwork to trade!

Bring 1–3 artworks to trade (please do not bring in before 5:00 p.m. the evening of the event). Artwork can be print editions, multiples or originals. When you arrive, pins and binder clips will be available to tack your work up on a designated wall. There will also be a table available for 3D works.

Before you leave, select a work or works to take home with you! Select one for each of the works you brought (if you brought 3, select 3)!

Be sure to sign your artwork(s) so the lucky person who selects it at the end of the night will know who created it!

Special Music & Dance Performance!

From 7 – 9 p.m. Eli Kahn & Krista Hoefle bring a music and visual art performance with a special light installation by Giiivens and a live dance composition performed by New Industry Dance.
