Due to the current pandemic, SBMA needs your support more than ever this year. In a recent survey by the American Alliance of Museums, 33% of respondents said there was either a “significant risk” of closing permanently by next fall or that they didn’t know if their institutions would survive.

On October 29, SBMA will be hosting a “virtual” ARTLIGHTS event in place of our annual ARTLIGHTS Gala. Proceeds from this fundraiser will help us continue to provide ongoing community outreach, school programming, exceptional studio art classes, engaging exhibitions & collections and community events.

Decades of research show strong and consistent links between high-quality arts education and a wide range of impressive educational outcomes. Please help SBMA continue with its mission by making a contribution, participating in our event and inviting others to support it!

Help us reach our donation goal of $25,000!

Consider being a partner to the event by donating a ticket price ($150) or in the ranges below:
Mingle: $50 – $99
$100 – $249
$250 – $499
$500 – $999

No act of generosity is too small to make a difference. Here is how your donation will help SBMA:

Provide materials necessary to docent training
Support one family to attend a Family Day outreach program
Contribute to the gallery-goer experience at 1st Friday
Assist with outreach to our area seniors in our Aging in Place program

Provide art supplies for Museum Morning, an education program for local schools
Support free programming such as Teen Forum
Provide support & materials for KidBeat, part of DTSB’s ArtBeat

Provide artist outreach at Meet Me on the Island
Facilitate students in our College Residency program
Help cultivate the Ekphrastic Event to gain exposure for area poets

Provide supplies for youth participants at Festival of Banners
Enable 4 students to participate in one week of Summer Camp
Help to conserve a work of art from our permanent collection

Will help to plan and present the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards exhibition
Partially support the Robert C. Shields American Series exhibition

As a thank-you for your donation, we are offering the opportunity to have a personalized tile with your name added to the SBMA’s inaugural “Giving Tree” mosaic that will be permanently on display at the museum after the event & for years to come!
