Education Internships

“My internship working on the Festival of Banners this summer has been a very rewarding experience, and even in some ways I never expected. My supervisor and all my coworkers at the museum were a pleasure to work with and made things fun. Having been a banner artist in years past it was neat to be on the other side of things organizing the project. I felt privileged to have an opportunity to inspire young artists at the Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart, and here in South Bend. I also loved meeting and training some of the Summer Residents. There was a lot of work to do to get the banners done on time, but I never turn down a good challenge. Nothing worth doing ever comes easy. I know the finished banners will look spectacular hung up and will dress up the downtown. Art brings communities together and this summer I was glad to help get some out there.”
