Abstracting the Obvious
(High School Level)

This is a project students can do at home. Students will collect and repurpose colored trash as a creative way to study the color wheel and
color relationships. Students will be taken on a self-guided study of an abstract expressionist portrait from our permanent collection through an art viewing experience called See, Think, Wonder. They will then create contour drawings (a portrait, a self-portrait, and a landscape) and use their new repurposed goods as material.
