What is Etsy? etsy.com is an online marketplace for art, craft and supplies.  It is a fun, easy to use, and inexpensive venue for artists to sell work.   

Why sell on Etsy?  No HTML required, vibrant community, active buyers, and online safety.    

What will be covered?  An informative guide to everything about the etsy web site.  You’ll learn all about setting up your shop, adding inventory, maintaining it and promoting it for a successful Etsy experience.

 Pastel Landscapes from Photographs

For beginning and intermediate pastel painters, this workshop will highlight the benefits and pitfalls of  painting landscapes from photos. Class members will work from their own photos, but some will be provided. The focus will be basics of color, value and composition. A supply list will be provided. Canson Mi-Tientes paper and basic pastel sets will be provided for those who have not used pastel before, but class members are encouraged to bring dry (chalky) pastels, vine charcoal and other supplies they have.  Lunch will be brown bag or fast food.  Cathy McCormick is founder of the Northern Indiana Pastel Society and teaches pastels at South Bend Museum of Art.

 Pastels at Riverside

Here’s your chance to get out of the studio and into the open air. Please join us outside the South Bend Museum of Art as we paint views of the St. Joseph River in pastel. We will begin in the studio with some basics on landscape painting, finding a composition, and working with changing light. Bring a small sketchbook, dry pastels, vine charcoal, paper (a quarter sheet of Canson gray paper, sanded paper or similar pastel paper) mounted on foam core or drawing board. Lawn chair, portable table or TV tray, portable easel, towel, hat, water, and lunch.  In case of rain, we will work indoors at the museum. Class size is limited to 12 participants. All levels of ability are welcome, although it is recommended that you have familiarity with soft pastels and equipment. Lunch will be brown bag.
